Postcard to a Future Me
Explore values, hopes, questions, and support for a future that may be clear, uncertain, or different from expected milestones.
Specialist review requiredFull-resolution WebP artwork with print-safe margins. Review the guidance below before use.
How to use it
- Choose a time frame, an unknown future, or no date at all.
- Write, draw, or collage what you hope to remember, keep, question, or receive support with.
- Leave room for plans to change and for outcomes you cannot predict.
- Decide whether to keep, seal, share, revise, or discard the postcard.

Reflection prompts
- Which parts are about values rather than achievements?
- What uncertainty deserves room on the card?
- What support could future you reasonably ask for?

Facilitator guidance
Avoid pressure for optimism, conventional milestones, disclosure, or certainty. Attend to grief, hopelessness, identity safety, and material barriers without forcing a future-oriented exercise.
Adaptations & accessibility
- Write from a future self to the present self.
- Use a next-week or open-ended time frame.
- Create an image-only or audio postcard.
Review considerations
Licensed-clinician and privacy review required; use safeguarding procedures if future-oriented prompts surface safety concerns.
This is a layout-complete draft. Complete the stated clinical, accessibility, and local-policy review before client use or publication.
